The property’s 61 hectares of vines are spread across the rich clay-limestone soils that dominate the gentle hills of this estate. The entire vineyard is dry farmed, meaning no irrigation is used. It is here that, with 3 of the best grape varieties on the planet and exclusive gravity vinification, we produce our most emblematic red wine, capable of rivalling any world-class wine, Principal. In truly exceptional years, we choose the best Principal barrels and extend the ageing to 36 months, followed by a further 8 years in the bottle. JFF ‘Just For Friends’ is then born, the maximum exponent of what is possible at Quinta de Colinas São Lourenço.

TERROIR: Atlantic influenced climate, protected by the Caramulo and Bussaco Hills. Vineyards planted at high density (up to 6172 plants per hectare) on gentle hills of clay-limestone soils. Completely dry farmed.
VARIETALS: Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.
SERVING TEMP: Serve between 15-18 Cº. Decant 15 minutes before serving.
STORAGE: In a cool place (12-14 Cº) away from direct sunlight and without big fluctuations in temperature.
AGEING ABILITY: The wine is perfect to drink, but will age beautifully up to 2034-36.
Deep ruby with a completely opaque centre. Very intense aroma of black fruit like blackberries and cassis, cedar, leather, smoke and toasted wood. Very full-bodied, with dusty tannins reminiscent of chalk dust. Vibrant acidity that remains throughout the tasting. Very long finish.
